Unique terroir
The olive variety we cultivate here in Sitia, Crete is Koroneiki and is considered the queen among the Greek olive varieties, ideal for the production of extra virgin olive oil.
Our olives have stood proudly for centuries on Cretan soil. They carry the maturity of time and a long history of olive oil production. They are located in semi-mountainous areas, at an altitude of about 500 meters, in the unique terroir of Sitia, recognized by UNESCO as a World Geopark (Sitia Geopark) for the characteristics of biodiversity that make it unique and of international value.
The Sitia terroir (relief, wind rose, presence of water, forests, sunlight, flora and fauna) is ideal for the production of an extra virgin olive oil and is protected by the Protected Designation of Origin (PDO) Sitia, Lasithiou Kritis, for which we are proud to be certified.
